Our podcasts provide in depth coverage of citizen journalism from differing perspectives.

What are j-school professors' take on citizen journalism?
Jena and I interviewed Professor Alves, who is the Knight Chair of Journalism at the University of Texas, to learn a bit more about citizen journalism. He brought up some very interesting points; the one that stood out particularly with me was that he thinks in a couple of years, citizen journalism and traditional journalism will integrate to the point where there won't be a distinction between the two.

"You won't be in here interviewing me about citizen journalism because it'll just be journalism." The podcast is a bit lengthy, but it offers an interesting and positive perspective on citizen journalism.

What do journalists think of citizen journalism?
Dan interviews Doug Warren, who has been in the newspaper industry for many years. He was an editor at the Boston Globe before coming to the University of Texas. As a veteran and newspaper junkie, he offers compelling insight.

What do students think of this phenomenon?
The five contributors of this website sat down together to brainstorm what we thought citizen journalism was. I think this offers an interesting perspective on the topic because of our backgrounds. Can you tell who is a journalism major and who isn't by the statements each person makes?
